Cardenas Music School Policies

Lesson Times
Lesson times are scheduled at the mutual agreement of teacher and student, subject to the availability of open lesson times.
Parents
Parents may enter the class at any time during the music lessons, watch through the window, or join the child during their music lesson.
Practice
The effectiveness of private and group lessons will be limited if sufficient practice isn’t happening at home. It is the student’s and parent’s responsibility to ensure sufficient quality practice time happens each week. If you have questions regarding how much you should be practicing or what are good practice techniques, please speak with your instructor.
Payment Policy
Students are expected to pay on a semester basis, or on a monthly basis prior to or on the first lesson of every month. Those paying on a monthly basis that do not complete payment in time, will be charged with a late fee of $10. An invoice will be issued on a semester basis detailing the monthly payment amounts. All payments must be made in full. If students plan on missing a lesson due to other commitments, a make up schedule must be discussed with their teacher. Payments can be made through the student portal on My Music Staff, or by cash/check. Please make check payments out to “Aaron Cardenas Guitar Studio LLC”.
Fees
A $10 late fee will be added to any monthly account not paid in full by the tenth (10) of the month. Any account over thirty days delinquent may result in a discontinuation of lesson privileges.
Any non-sufficient funds fees assessed by the bank for any returned check or declined electronic funds will be added to the tuition.
Attendance Policy
Students are expected to take weekly lessons. Failure to commit to an assigned time slot for a consecutive 2 weeks will result in the forfeiting of the assigned time slot. Showing up late for a lesson will result in forfeiting the lost time. The time missed at the beginning of lessons cannot be accommodated by “going over” the lesson time, as many students are scheduled in back to back time slots.
Cancellation Policy
Students must give notice of inability to make a lesson in advance (24 hours) in order to qualify for a make-up lesson.
Medical & Liabilities
Parents, legal guardians of minor students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school property resulting from normal lesson activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during or after lesson time.
To ensure your child’s safety, please be sure to pick him/her up promptly after class/lesson time. Cardenas Music School’s instructors and staff do not supervise children waiting in hallways before and/or after classes/lessons. Children are under supervision during their instruction time only. Neither instructors nor staff are responsible for supervising children outside of teaching time.
Unless written notice is given to the studio, permission is granted to Cardenas Music School and its operators to seek medical treatment for the participant in the event they are not able to reach a parent or guardian. Parents/Guardians must also submit written notice for any physical/mental problems, restrictions or conditions.
Parents, legal guardians of minor students and adult students fully waive and relinquish any and all claims against Cardenas Music School and its owners, instructors, agents and employees from injuries or damages as a result of participating in any activities or classes in any way associated with Cardenas Music School. Parents, legal guardians of minor students and adult students further agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cardenas Music School from any and all claims resulting in injuries, damages arising out of, connected with or in any way associated with the activities of any of the programs.
